This is a big team. With two cars running in the Funny Car class, having a big crew is not only prudent, its a requirement. The team involved both the Sekura families but a also number of other key personnel.

An opportunity to entertain the people who come out to watch us do huge burnouts and make this sport possible doing what we love. Thank the God for Methanol and Goodyear for smokey tires.

Morris Burniuk - Crew Chief
Age: 55
Home: Ponoka, Alberta
Team Position: Crew Chief

I have been a gearhead (as per Cal Tebb) as far back as I can remember. My first project... I tried to mount a gas washing machine motor on a wooden go-cart. I have been involved with or worked on many cars, trucks, stockcars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, or anything with a motor. I used to street drag every chance I had with some classics such as: a '68 Dodge Dart Swinger GT, '67 Cougar GT, '68 Torino 428 Cobra Jet, as well as many others. It all started with getting my driver's license in a Dodge Super Bee with a 383 and straight pipes!

I have worked in the automotive industry for the past 35 years.
I started with the Sekura Bros. Racing on May 15, 2009 at the NHRA Heritage Tour in
Las Vegas. I was invited out to the race to hang out and watch the races by a very good friend, I think?!?, Don Yurkewich. I instantly got hooked, which I think Don had planned, thank you very much. Being a part of this team is "living the dream". Thanks to Sekura Bros. Racing; Ron & Cory, family and friends for accepting me into the crew.

2010 will be a great year with lots of fun and "Big burnouts" starting in Bakersfield.

Special thanks to my wife Ida, my family; Tom, Mandy, & Emma and Nancy, Ron, Katelyn, Lindsey & Brook.

Tiffany La.Rose

Drayton Valley Ab.
Age: 22

Career/Student:
Currently I have two part time jobs as an Office Administrator for both Sekura Auctions and H&R Block. In the spring I will have finished my two years of business and will be vigorously perusing a job this summer.

Background:
Riding SUPED up sleds and quads when I was younger, running into fences at times, I guess you could say danger was my middle name. Having my dad always changing the throttle so I wouldn't try to go any faster was something that was of concern. Smokey burn outs, fans roaring, the sound of high powered engines, and the smell of burning methanol, how much better could life be?! I have always been interested in the racing industry. In 1993 I helped my dad start up Rapid Fire and continued till 2004. My dad was involved in stock car racing and I had always wanted to race. So at 16 years old I was able to get the opportunity to race his stock car at Rapid Fire in Drayton Valley, but felt it just wasn't fast enough! :

Present:
For the past three years I have considered the race track as my second home and have grown to love the various race tracks. From the fans, track directors, and family, here I am able to help my dad and uncle purse their dream in race car driving. Being a crew member has helped me learn and work on funny cars, which is something I enjoy doing and has made me grow in areas I thought I would not be able to do.

Like my dad, who also is on the team, I was invited to come watch a race in Edmonton. Within minutes, I was hooked on it! The whole atmosphere in the pits was awesome, everyone was happy and excited to be there. I really enjoy the team spirit and the drive to please the fans. This is what made me want to be a part of the team. We race hard and have fun doing it !

I have been involved in motorsports all my life. I was first introduced at age 2, by going to tractor pulls, mud bogs and monster truck shows with my dad. Growing up, I've always been into dirt bikes, quads, snowmobiles, and water sports. So drag racing is very fun and exciting for me. I love being a part of it, from days at the track to working at the shop.

I am really looking forward to my second season on the team in 2010. Can't wait for roaring crowds and kick ass burnouts !

I would like to thank the Sekura Bros. Racing family for having me as part of the team.
Special thanks to Nancy and Lorena for the great meals and to Mandy for listening to me talk about drag racing all the time.

Team Position - not sure (maybe a go-for!!)

Proud to grow up in Westlock Alberta on a farm which gave my buddies and me the opportunity to experience the need for speed at its best. We had a variety of toys to play with - motorcycles, quads, sleds, dunebuggys, cars, trucks, and the list goes on. It was during these years that an appreciation for "tweaking" began, to squeeze just a little more speed out of whatever we could!!

My drag racing experience started as an annual event going to the first Rocky Mountain Nationals event in Edmonton - always in the camping area, or should I say mud hole for the first couple of years! But always in the same spot with same group of GREAT people thanks to Arvid!

I got involved with Sekura Bros. Racing in 2009 thanks to my best friend Don and what an experience it has been. The team's ability to make strangers feel like they are with family is truly an amazing gift! It has been an honor to "PLAY" with such an amazing group of friends both on and off the track! Looking forward to an awesome 2010 race season. Special thanks to my family for letting me have fun and too the ladies of the crew for keeping us well fed - the food is always awesome! "LET THE FUN BEGIN!"

HOME TOWN: DRAYTON VALLEY AB/ LUMBY BC
TEAM POSITION: CHIEF COOK AND BOTTLE WASHER

I'm the oldest of five children, we grew up on a hobby farm, and until I met Corey I had never really had much to do with racing. My first real racing experience was the first "ROCKY MOUNTIAN NATIONALS", Corey took me there, and it was amazing. From 2001 to 2006 I helped my husband with "Rapid Fire Motorsports", an annual event which included tough trucks, mud bogs, demolition, monster trucks, stock car and sprints, here in Drayton Valley Ab. In 2007 Corey shocked me with the idea of funny car racing and it's been love ever since. The best part of our club is all the wonderful people. Everyone is so great. Our children really get to be involved and be a part of our team. It is 100% family fun.
We farm, and have an auction business in Drayton Valley, and racing is our down time. In 2007 Corey and I went to Vegas and we got to drive Indy lights, which was pretty cool. In 2008 I went for my first ride in the Paradise RV two seater funny car. Now that shocked me but it was the ride of my life. Thanks Darrell.
Everyone is so excited for the upcoming season. I don't know pretty hard to top last year. But we'll try!

Nancy James: Children Cody and Kailee. Home Town : Edmonton
I was born and raised in Edmonton , along with my 5 sisters and 2 brothers. I remember on many occassions going to the go-cart track. I was always the Rebel of the bunch. So of course I love to KICK butt ! I would speed past my sisters zigging and zagging around them . I bet I would get up to 25mph and I thought that was FAST ! I couldn't even imagine 200 MPH !!! It's Crazy ! The Smell of Methanol and burning rubber . . . I LOVE being there !
Team Position: Executive director in charge of all Ron's needs :) On occassion I went beyond the call of Duty:
IN 2008 Aschroft B.C. I was Crew Chief along with Cherry and Crystal, our all girl crew, we were fantastic. Definetly the Hottest crew in the pits, We run some rounds and made it to the Semi's . . . Hmmm. Maybe we do know a few things . As well I was Crew Chief In Saskatoon with Tiffany, Tania, Tracy. Our strategy was definetly DISTRACTION !
I must say I do love being on this team It is truly one big Family. From our Family Team to our Family Association and Sponsors, everyone is wonderful. I'm proud to be part of it. Come and join us BURNING some RUBBER !!!
