History
Corey started out with all his brothers and sisters on the farm in Drayton Valley Ab. and hanging around the new cattle auction market that his dad Wendell and mom Helen built in 1965. Life on the farm was typically busy with between 500 and 2000 head of cattle at any time and the weekly job of helping the family auction business.
Dad had the first rodeo in Drayton Valley and of course the temptation of riding bulls, horses, steers or cows kept all the brothers and sometimes our sisters in the odd cast or a few stitches here and there for a few years.
Horse power replaced horses as soon as the first machine with a motor got into our hands whether it was a bike sled or old vehicle. Making things go fast was preceded by learning how to first make them run. It wasn't long before us boys were trying to explain to dad how everything was bent, broken or blown up.
Ron began drag racing and at 8 years his junior I made a good crew guy. I learned a lot and fun was plentiful.
Ron and I campaigned a Chevy big block pickup and then a Chevy 2. Big dreams led us to buy a funny car rolling chassis.

Family
My family is wonderful! Lorena my wife has stood with me no matter what life has brought us and trust me "my life brings a lot". She is a great mom, friend, " one of the guys" and loved by everyone she meets… especially me. Wow can she cook!
Lindsay and tiffany are in their 20's and have both turned out better than I could have hoped for. Lindsay lives in Drayton Valley and still loves horses and keeps busy working she is amazingly grounded and a great mentor for her friends and family. Tiff is going to school for business and always had the SPEED gene in her. Her craziness always brings a smile and her hard work ethic doesn't go unnoticed (see Tiff's Bio). Justin is an avid hunter and drives everything I give him hard and fast. He is helpful, athletic and generous. Wyatt is full of character, loves cars and music. He can keep you in stitches with his humour or converse beyond his age about anything. Both boys are friends first and brothers second often do everything together. Sara is my little cutesy. She is so full of life and, like Tiff, she loves everything about racing. Her attitude is positive and often gives me love when I most need it. My whole family loves the racing and really supports me in everything I do. I love them all so much!

Racing
LIFE took over and soon drag racing was put aside. I continued to race dirt bikes, quads etc. on and off.
In '93 I built the start of what was to be Rapid Fire Motor Sports Park on my land in Drayton Valley with the help of my family and friends. This little dream started with Bull fights, Bands and Beer the first year and grew into a full blown motor sports park with mud drag pits, tuff truck track, demo. track. Tractor pulls, free style monster trucks, extreme dirt bike jumping, and a full dirt oval track that featured 360 sprints numerous times including the platinum cup race.
I have had great luck in my life time! Besides the dirt bike and quads I raced a stock car for a couple seasons and got opportunities to drive a nitrous big block rail mud rail and Marvin Anderson let me jump some cars FREE STYLE in his Monster Truck "Wild Thing"
10 or so years past and we took over Sekura Auctions Ltd. which was all consuming as we focused on growing the business. The boys from the nostalgia funny car club heard we had a car sitting in a shed. With help from Kincaid racing Ron and myself got our funny car license in the Kincaid Bubble up funny car. Soon we were racing the old funny car for a ½ a season. The next year we campaigned a brand new power train in the Trevor Lebsack chassis we purchased.
2 DRIVERS AND ONE CAR guess what we bought another funny car ('69 Camaro) from Cal Tebb and the whole world was ours to have. Now it's 2 cars and 2 drivers. You just never know which brother is in which car!

This is a big team. With two cars running in the Funny Car class, having a big crew is not only prudent, its a requirement. The team involved both the Sekura families but a number of other key crew.
